FRIENDLY'S OPENS NEW RESTAURANT IN AMHERST, NEW YORK

Guests can enjoy Friendly's Familiar Favorites

Wilbraham, MA (June 29, 2005) - Beginning June 27, 2005 the residents of Amherst, New York have a new neighbor - a new Friendly's restaurant, located at 4350 Maple Road.

Laurence Kessler and Dennis Kessler of Kessler Family, LLC, will own and operate the restaurant. They also own and operate 41 other Friendlys restaurants. Robert Russlander, a 20-year veteran of the restaurant business will manage the Amherst restaurant, and will serve the great food and delicious ice cream treats that Friendly's is famous for.

"The Amherst restaurant has opened just in time to help us celebrate our 70th birthday on July 18, 2005. This is an exciting time for Friendly's and we know the Kessler family will operate a great restaurant here in Amherst," said Pete Bell, Senior Director Brand Marketing.

For a limited time, guests at the Amherst, NY Friendly's can enjoy some extra special treats: a free Happy Ending Sundae with the purchase of any of our Summer Sensations, including our new Sirloin Steak Tips & Shrimp and Alpine Chicken Platter. Guests can also indulge on the featured ice cream flavor - Hunka Chunka PB Fudge.

The Amherst restaurant is one of approximately 19 new Friendly's Restaurants that has opened or planned for opening this year throughout the chain.

The 175-seat restaurant will be open 6:00 am to12:00 am Sunday thru Thursday and 6:00 am to 1:00 am Friday and Saturday.
